Sprouts Farmers Markets, Phoenix, took home the grand prize from the California Avocado Commission?s 2012 Hand Grown in California Avocado advertising contest.

?We had excellent participation in the 2012 Retail Advertising Contest,? said Jan DeLyser, vice president of marketing for the commission, in the release. ?As the California avocado season comes to its close it?s great to be able to show our appreciation to our retail partners who helped make our season a success.?
Retailers earned points for the number of avocado ads, and bonus points for using the Hand Grown in California logo.
Other winners were Haggen, Thriftway, Top Food & Drug, Vallarta Supermarkets, Lucky Supermarkets in Northern California, Albertsons-SuperValu Southern California, Save Mart and Stater Bros.
